Thank you for visiting the website of "Bedroom," a small, one-person publishing company.
I, Hikari Wagatsuma , created this website in 2021 with the desire to have a place where I could do only what I love, all by myself.
The name of the site, "Bedroom," comes from the idea that one's pre-sleep fantasies can be turned directly into works of art.
For Azuma, her bed is a place where she can feel safe and confront herself.
Rather than a gallery or portfolio site for displaying artwork,
My desire was to create a magazine or media outlet called "Bedroom."
After engaging in activities such as commercial serialization, I currently operate this as a personal label for publishing and releasing Hikari Wagatsuma's works .
I started this place with the desire to "do what I love," but as I gained experience as an artist, my desire to "create and present my work in a safe space where I can protect my own heart" grew stronger year by year, regarding what I want to express (sexual expression, gender issues, the psychology of people who have suffered emotional trauma) .
I decided to "produce everything independently and run it as my own label" because I wanted to create a space where people could think deeply through their work and have safe conversations.
"Bedroom" is not yet finished.
We've repeatedly rearranged the layout since we first started.
I want to protect my own work and what I want to do, while also creating a comfortable space for those who need it.
I hope to continue to nurture this small media platform slowly and steadily, together with all of you.
